Fryetts Kenya Bronze ROman Blinds

Do you have a penchant for animal print, regularly charmed by cheetah and ever-tempted by tiger? Perhaps you always find yourself drawn to the section of the shop that brims with exotic designs and fur trims, or maybe your favourite way to style up an outfit is to add an animal-inspired accessory?

And on the other side of the fence are the sceptics – loathing leopard print, suspicious of snakeskin, and avoiding animal-inspired design at all costs. Do you opt out of animal print, deterred by its brashness?

No matter your opinion of animal patterned design, there’s no denying that it’s a timeless trend. The collection of prints is fierce and fashion forward, and that’s not only on the catwalk. On the high street, animal print pops up in the form of décor as well as fashion, interior designers continue to utilise it in their work, and many of us love to incorporate it into our homes.

Leopard Print Bed Sheets

Of course, the boldness of animal print can make it harder to work with when it comes to interior design. While you’ll happily throw on some furry gloves or don leopard print pumps without hesitation, it can be a little bit different when you’re decorating. After all, animal print is an acquired taste best served in small doses, and one step too far can transform your home from a chic, stylish space into one that screams Cruella de Vil!

With that being said, a large, leopard print statement wall and a shiny snakeskin sofa may be a step too far. Instead, choose furnishings and accessories that channel animal print in a more subtle manner. Printed cushions and throws work well, adding fun and glamour to plain furniture. Animal print artwork and photo frames are also a great idea, along with themed vases and candles.

Animal print prints

Animal prints have a natural symmetry which makes them easy on the eye, achieving a sense of balance along with that of style. Though the majority of designs stick to the earthy hues that the animals themselves display, the addition of shimmery tones or unexpected bursts of colour makes for a fun, vibrant contrast.

Here at Roman Blinds Direct we have a great selection of animal print blinds. They’re the perfect way for you to subtly introduce a sense of the wild into your home…

1. Be Zealous with Zebra

Our Fryetts Limpopo Roman in silver is a gorgeous zebra print blind. This piece wouldn’t look out of place in a sleek, minimalistic living room or a modern, monochrome bedroom. The bold design would also contrast spectacularly against more vibrant shades, such as hot pink and turquoise. If zebra print is the one for you, be sure to check out the matching cushion also on offer – propped up on a neutral leather sofa, it’ll offset your new, stylish window dressing and spice up the room!

2. Jazz up with Giraffe

A less common print but still just as effective, the giraffe pattern is one of our favourites. The Fryetts Kenya Bronze demonstrates just how stylish the dark patches upon a paler background looks. We’d pop this blind in a neutral themed bedroom to keep it nice and cosy, and highlight the colour combination with matching ornaments in beige and gold. How would you style it?

3. Snakeskin Style

Fryetts Kilimanjaro Silver

The Fryetts Kilimanjaro in silver is a stylish Roman blind reminiscent of reptiles. This window dressing is perfect for a glamorous bedroom, or even a dining room that regularly plays host to dinner parties. If you’re not a huge fan of Roman shades, this design is also available as curtains, which will fit perfectly into a dramatic space.
